In conclusion to this preliminary task i believe that the outcome of this project was successful. From this task my group and i have developed our knowledge and understanding of the variety of shots that are used during the production of film and have used the compulsory shots that were given to us in the making of our opening scene. The task was to film and edit a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair oppsite another character, in which they exchange a few lines of dialogue. The task should have demonstrated the following:
- Match on action
- Shot/Reverse shot
- 180 - degree rule
Match on action was used to show continuity in our work. As we were filming, continuity wasnt shown accurately in some scenes so we had to edit pieces of the shots in order to show a perfect match on action shot. We did this for two scenes in our task. One scene was when the charcter (A) walked into the classroom which was edited well and shows good continuity, the other was when the character (C) left the room. The editing was not so good for this scene so this match on action was not as good as the first one.
Shot reverse shot was used to record the argument between the two students to make it look more realistic and to show more emphasis between the both of them. To engage the audience we decided to use several close ups to show the characters reactions and emotions. This was to let the audience know how the charcters are feeling.
Overall, I feel that this task has helped me to build a positive relationship with my peers as well as teaching me to become more confident in team work projects. I think that in order to improve on future work similar to this, instructions and advice should be taken without hesitation, as this would have made things alot easier during the film making. Also, organisation and punctuality should be improved to attain the highest grades.

Edit Of Preliminary Task
After filming our shots using the details as described previously in my last post, my group and i moved on to editing our opening scene. Editing was a huge struggle, and it required alot of patience as at first we kept making mistakes and had to keep starting again. To make the editing easier for ourselves, we edited shot by shot and eventually got the hang of how to do it. I believe that our editing was successful in the end. Hopefully this practice would be of much help for future references!!!
